Prizes for Int'l Wine Competition 2012 Bucharest were awarded!!
- 50 manufacturers Romanian participated and 48 foreign manufacturers who sent samples directly or through the 12 importers from Romania to the competition;
- Wines from 15 countries: South Africa, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Chile, Italy, France, Greece, Moldova, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Spain, USA;
- 454 samples entered the contest (456 scored, 2 did not reach on Regulation time), and awards were granted on 4 classes of wines:
- Still Wines
- Still Wines Collection
- Sparkling
- Distillates
- Of 454 samples, 150 samples were from abroad, representing 33% of all samples;
- 138 medals Were awarded:
- 1 Great Gold Medal - 92.33 points, a wine from Romania: Chardonnay 1975 – Research Resort Murfatlar
- 105 Gold Medals (scores ranging from 91.67 - 85 points)
- 32 Silver Medals (scores ranging from 84.67 to 84.33 points)
- Of 138 medals, Romania obtained 85 (1 Great Gold Medal, 66 Gold Medals, 18 Silver Medals);
- Highlighting presence of wines with higher score then 82 points, so "of medal", who did not stepped the podium percentage due rules imposed by OIV Regulation, according to which samples can be rewarded only 30% of all samples enter the contest.
- As follows:
- 9 wines were Gold Medal score (87-85 points), making them part of the collection wines
- 116 Wines were Silver Medal score (84-82 points)
In other words, we had a large number of valuable wines within competition.
- The highest score achieved was 92.33 and the lowest was 68 points;
- Only 42% of the total participating samples were under 82 points;
- Categories Still Wines and Collection Still Wines – 431 of samples collected, won 130 medals (1 Gold Medal Sea, 102 Gold Medals and 27 Silver Medals)
