Bucharest ,24.05.2017 : During the period 25-28.05.2017, at ARCUB- Cultural Centre of Bucharest, it will take place the 14th Edition of the largest international wine contest from Estern Europe –International Wine Contest Bucharest 2017.
The contest is organized with the support of the City Hall.
Number of international jurors :
- 33 foreign jurors, from 22 countries
- 24 romanian jurors
There will be 8 commitees with 7 jurors/committee for the judging process. The decision to increase the number of jurors/committee was taken for a better accuracy of the assessment.
Total number of the samples : 1684 (self-imposed limit), from which:
- 42,7% samples from Romania (719)
- 57,3% samples from outside of Romania (965); the number of samples has increased compared to 2016, when the samples from outside of Romania represented 52%
Total number of countries which have registred samples: 25
Distribution of samples by the main categories :
- Still wines : 1570
– 44,1% white wines
– 11.6% rose wines
– 44,3% red wines
- Sparkling wines: 89
- Spirituous beverages of vitivincultural origin: 25
280 producers have sent samples for the contest :
- 83 romanian producers registered 662 samples
- 167 producers form outside of Romania registered 715 samples
- 21 importers registered 225 samples
- 9 negotiators/distributors/representatives registered 82 samples
International Organisation of Wine and Vine (OIV) , World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions(VINOFED) and International Federation of Wine and Spirit Journalist and Writers (FIJEV) have sent representatives for monitoring the contest process.
International Wine Contest Bucharest was organised at the initiative of the National Office of Vine and Wine Products (ONVPV) , by ASER Wineconsulting in partnership with The Association of Tasting Authorities in Romania (ADAR) and under the high patronage of International Organisation of Wine and Vine (OIV) and World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions (VINOFED) .
