Considering the situation determined by the current coronavirus pandemic,

Taking into account the new social distancing rules,

Noting the uncertainties regarding free movement and gatherings,

Seeing the impasse in which the wine producers are and their need to return in the attention of consumers,

Acknowledging the postponement and rescheduling of international contests to the second half of the year*,

Having evaluated the mediocre compensation efforts of every government for the winemaking sector deemed as a non-priority,

Accepting the validity of the new types of actions facilitated by technology,

BOARD OF VINARIUM

Based on the Association’s own statute, the OIV and VINOFED regulations,

Abiding by the regular standards, but also to those attributed to combating the pandemic,

Having been ensured of the professionalism of every juror and everyone’s possibility to provide proper conditions for the act of evaluation,

Being convinced that the International Organizations, national authorities, the media, and the public will accept the shift to the new communication technology as a solution to overcome the current impasse and will acknowledge the imperative necessity to act,

DECIDES ORGANIZING

THE 17TH EDITION OF The VINARIUM International Wine Contest 2020 as TeleVINARIUM**

Regulations at a glance:

  • The samples will be received by the Organizer
  • Each sample will be assigned a unique cellar number
  • Every sample will be arranged by type, sugar content, year of production, aromatic composition, according to OIV Annex 1
  • There will be ordered for judging day, by panel, and by flight
  • The judging will be done with the sealed samples, according to OIV Regulations
  • All the samples will be transferred to an authorized lab where each sample, under the supervision of a commission, under the highest sanitary standards, will be transferred by sterile transfer into new 100ml containers pre-prepared according to adequate bottling standards
  • The containers will be sealed and will receive the same contest number as the source samples. The organizer will apply AR (QR) control keys, for internal use
  • The samples for all four days will reach each member of the jury, according to the panel they will be part of. The expedition will be made via an express delivery service
  • The jurors will receive the judging app and will rate on own-devices
  • The communication with the heads of each board will take place via an officially dedicated platform
  • Each session will be opened with a general check of mandatory conditions and with the tasting and discussion of the calibration sample
  • The tasting and grading will take place in the regular way, identical with the offline. The jurors, as always, will not know other jurors’ marks. The entire process will be monitored and video recorded
  • The heads of the commissions will be present in a room designated to judging and teleconference
  • The technical and procedural details will be announced well in advance

*International Contests are being rescheduled in autumn (with no certainty about the real possibility of being held); VINARIUM is firmly trying to support the white and rose wines – 2019 year of production, both regarding the life of the wine as well as from a commercial standpoint

Acceptant la validité des nouveaux types d’action mis à disposition via la technologie,

Prenant appui sur le statut de l’Association, le Règlement de l’OIV et de VINOFED,

Dans le respect des normes en usage, mais aussi de celles qui ont été introduites pour combattre l’épidémie,

Comptant sur le professionnalisme de chaque juré et sur la possibilité de tous les membres du jury d’assurer les conditions spécifiques d’évaluation,

Convaincus que les organisations internationales, les autorités nationales, le mass-média et le public accepteront sans réserve les nouvelles technologies comme solution possible pour sortir de l’impasse globale, et qu’ils prendront conscience de la nécessité impérative de l’action,

L’ORGANISATION

 de la XVIIe Edition du Concours International de Vins VINARIUM 2020 comme TeleVINARIUM**

Notes explicatives :

  • Les échantillons seront remis à l’organisateur
  • Chaque échantillon aura un numéro unique de cave
  • Tous les échantillons seront ordonnés selon le type, le millésime, le sucre résiduel, les composantes aromatiques, en conformité avec l’Annexe no I de l’OIV
  • En vue de l’évaluation, les échantillons seront groupés par jours, commissions, séries
  • Les échantillons seront anonymisés, en conformité avec le Règlement de l’OIV
  • Tous les échantillons seront transférés dans un laboratoire autorisé, où, en présence d’une commission, dans le respect de la sécurité sanitaire, chacun sera transvasé en milieu aseptique dans des récipients neufs de 100 ml, préparés conformément aux standards de mise en bouteille
  • Les récipients seront étanchéisés, et un numéro de concours leur sera attribué, le même que celui de l’échantillon d’origine. L’organisateur appliquera la clé de contrôle AR (QR) à usage interne
  • Les échantillons pour les quatre jours seront remis à chaque membre du jury, selon la répartition par commission. Les produits leur parviendront par courrier rapide
  • Les dégustateurs-juges recevront l’application à juger et vont noter les échantillons sur leurs dispositifs en usage
  • La communication avec les responsables des commissions sera réalisée sur une plateforme dédiée
  • Les sessions seront ouvertes par une vérification générale du respect des conditions obligatoires, et continueront par la dégustation et le commentaire de l’échantillon de calibrage
  • La dégustation et la notation se dérouleront dans des conditions identiques au contexte offline. Les jurés d’une commission, selon la pratique courante, ne connaîtront pas les notes de leurs collègues. Tout le processus sera surveillé et vidéo enregistré
  • Les responsables de commissions, dégustateurs roumains, seront présents dans la salle spécialement aménagée pour l’évaluation et la téléconférence
  • Les détails techniques et procéduraux seront annoncés en temps utile

* Les concours internationaux reprogrammés pour l’automne (sans avoir la certitude des événements à venir), et VINARIUM pousse fortement pour la promotion des vins blancs et rosés – année de production 2019, tant en termes de vie du vin, que de point de vue du marketing
